Next-Gen Dog Goggles
Dogs’ eyes need protection just like ours. UV, wind, rain, branches and debris can cause irritation—or real injury. Meeko is developing a next-generation pair of dog goggles designed to be comfortable, durable and genuinely easy to use. The goal is a solution that works across sizes, from small to large dogs— and that performs reliably on everyday walks as well as in demanding conditions.
Our Story
The project began with Tass, a husky who developed snow blindness and was left with lasting eye damage. In certain conditions, being outdoors can mean pain, irritation, and an increased risk of infection. For Tass to enjoy life outside, goggles often aren’t just a nice-to-have—they’re essential.
When we searched for a good solution, we found clear gaps in the market. Fit can be hard to stabilize, quality varies, sizing is often confusing, and many products aren’t practical for everyday use. We wanted goggles built for real conditions.
Meeko goggles are being developed to provide dependable protection year-round. Our focus is to combine trusted eye protection with a secure fit and high comfort, so more dogs can stay active outdoors without unnecessary strain. They’re designed to be robust and functional—for everyday use as well as operational environments.
Where We Are Now
Meeko is currently in the development phase. Together with K8 Industridesign, we’ve created two prototypes, supported by grants from Ål kommune and Innovation Norway. In November 2025, we presented a prototype at Oslo Dog Show and received valuable feedback from dog owners and professional communities. The response confirmed the need—and gave us clear direction for what we must solve in the next iteration.
Next, we’ll continue refining fit and comfort, improving usability, and testing more systematically across sizes and dog types. In parallel, we’re preparing for the next phase toward a production-ready solution.
